Don't have the right tool. Have a pair of those oil filter type pliers, but they are too big (more for a car) so... I'll have to stop at the shop on the way home from work tomorrow and get me the tools.

Oh, and since it was the first time doing an oil change myself I looked for a tutorial online. Last line in the tutorial I found kinda cracked me up :) Had to send it to dad since he is a harley rider...

"check the level in the window. Take the bike for a ride, check the level again and look for leaks around the filter and the oil drain plug. If it leaks, check to see if your Ninja 500R did not transform itself into a Harley."

scares me into thinking I'd rather just get the channel lock pliers and be done with it. :) But I'll decided when I get to the auto store tomorrow.
