vamp embrace is a priest skill that, when applied to enemy, returns 30% of all shadow damage you do to it as heals - to the whole group for one minute.
so I spam VE on all the horde in BG, then spam SW:P (a shadow DoT) and each tick of SW:P on each horde heals my whole group. not bad for 40 mana per VE tap on each horde.

that's just the SW:P ticks, now throw in some mind blasts and mind flay, while throwing out renew spells on those who need it.
and when dueling, it makes a huge difference too. shield, VE, SW:P, fear, Power Infussion (reduces mana on next spell cast by 100% and raises crit chance by 25%), mind blast, mind flay, mind flay, mind blast, mind flay 'til death.
