16.88, 73.122... but thats with the non 9" side being 29.XX per pythagoras

I don't have a protractor and need to measure the angle of a part of a closet to add shlves to it. I have all 4 sides measured, but need to measure the angle of one non-square side.

Back side = 27.5"
Left side = 30.5"
Front side = 36.5"
Angled side = 31"

I need the measurement for the angled part so I can tell the hardware peeps what degree to cut it at.

I think

if the left is square to both back and front, then by cutting away the rectanglar part that is 27.5" wide, then you have a triangle on the right that is described as 9" on the front, 30.5" deep, and 31" on the hypotenuse (sp). The problem is that the 30.5 and 9" segments are at right angles to each other, so pythagoras says the hypo' needs to be rather longer than 31"

x marks right angles

<pre>
27.5 (back)
+------------------------+
|x /
| 30.5 /
| left / 31 right
| /
|x /
+------------------------------+
36.5 front

27.5 (back)
+------------------------+
|x x|/
| 30.5 | /
| left | / 31 right
| | /
+------------------------+-----+
27.5 9

ok, just ran the math, I was a little wrong...
pythagoras says the 31 is more or less correct...

so... some sin and cos shit iirc. syr?

sin theta = opposite/hypo

cos theta = adjacent/hypo

tan theta = opposite/adjacent

but the angles im getting seem to add up to ...like 93 degrees...not 180 lol

I'm sure there's some measurement slop in there, so should be able to get reasonably close to the angles he needs.
