That's the scam of the insurance...

At the infant to toddler stage it is not that bad a deal as everybody makes it out to be... treatable with IV antibiotic drip. If it turns out to be a viral infection then the only thing to do is treat symptomatically with either ibuprofin for fever or paracetamol for pain and IV fluids just to be sure.

Best wishes brotha!!

supra-cranial vascular development happens a bit faster than peripheral. the IV will be more stable and everything will be roses in less than a week.

Follow-ups at 2 weeks and three months then send him out to play in the street again

I live in fear of Gary losing his health insurance for some reason - that's $600/month!

(fortunately, we'll be married soon, and I'll put him on my insurance just in case)

(and heck, he seems to have way more health issues than I do anyway (totally unrelated to his UC (which requires the meds) - he manages to hurt himself too often (right now he's in a cast, because a few weeks ago he dislocated his cuboid bone and now has ligament issues :P )

Before insurance:

"Here you go, your prescription cost comes to $50"

After insurance:

"Here you go, your prescription cost comes to $650, but your insurance will cover $575, so your final cost is $75, thus you save $575."

The issue I have is that insurance has tended to cause costs to rise simply because of the "insurance will pay for it" midset.

Still a well SirM trumps the grief I want to give insurance companies (and living down here, insurance in general I REALLY want to just smack some peeps around)
