ah, didn't know that. i'm not savvy on the wireless thing and how you could surf through them regardless of who your carrier might be, if that makes sense...

there are some indie cafes around here that let you do it for free, but i dont think starbucks lets you.

ive used a couple of neighbors connections once when my cable modem fried. no idea how they connected to the net, but i think it was permanent not a dial up.


id assume in establishments that have a secured wireless you have to buy time on their connection but ive never done it myself.
