So, Oblivion is very immersive...

I was given a quest to travel to a nearby town to talk to someone. I was also warned that I should stick to the roads when trabeling...well I ended up spending 2 hours exploring the countryside on the way to that town, looking for caves and other cool ruins that are all over the place. I love the "sneak" ability and use it like spider sense out in the wilderness since all the plants make it easy for animals to sneak up on you.

The world is very huge (considering I'm traveling by foot), maybe it'll seem smaller when I get a horse who knows. The caves/dungeons are freaking scary, great lighting (or lack of it), great sound (helps me know when a skelton is sneaking around), very good overall atmosphere...

Also, was fun creating a custom class and working various skills. So much more to learn and do but it's been a blast so far. Only bad part is the segmented world that requires loading; most outdoor loads are almost instant but going through doors brings up a 2-5 second load screen...oh well :)

The Hateâ„¢ is flowing freely over there at the moment.

hehe.. :)

Everyone is entitled though :) There has been so much whining about item dependencies and this is an acceptable solution considering deleting all items isn't an option...

Fun times

DR was only going to affect the upper end of the system and retain the freedom of UO. This system is a set of shackles that's a PAIN to balance to achieve anything worthwhile.

It'll take almost ALL your "points" just to get your armor to a reasonable level, and mages are going to get HAMMERED with the system.

I don't mind change, but this is a BAD idea.

Either way, I'm glad they are doing something to make the game a bit more "level".

And I downloaded the google talk thing but it wants a GMail account and I neither have one nor the desire to get one.

I like it because I can use the web interface to chat with Wolf while I'm at work and through the firewalls :)

and it even does run pretty smoothly at 800x600 with the fancier graphics off

and it really looks nice. It slows down a bit outside if I spin around but that's ok :)
