it's a personal preference. I like the aspect ratio better than 4:3. There's no technical reason, I just do.

I don't get the widescreen thing anyway? I guess it's 16:9 aspect ratio or somesuch for watching movies... but I like the taller monitors instead of wider personally.

and if you do any kind of graphics i guess its a bonus as well. being able to have two full sized windows open next to each other would be nice
