So, I played in the big Magic tournament in San Antonio this weekend. First big event ever. We finished in the top 1/2 (which doesn't mean anything really) and had a LOT of fun playing and mostly losing (our team went 4-5). (eBolters)
In one round I was playing against Josh Utter-Leyton who is apparently a badass player who just won the Vancouver GP. I beat him. Even though he was trying to be all intimidating with his cards in Japanese. I told him to just tell me the names of the cards and I'd be ok (he offered to call a judge over to give me a translation when I asked what the first one he played was). Then I kicked his ass quickly and got to watch the rest of his team win against the rest of mine, netting a win for them. But I still beat a pro player in my first GP. So, yay.
